The 2026 Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association (IHSA) postseason has entered its supersectional phase, with 32 teams still in contention for the state crowns.
The Elite Eight games are slated for June 8, after which the victorious squads will advance to the state finals scheduled for June 12‑13.
Those championship contests will be staged at two distinct venues: Class 1A and Class 2A finals will unfold at Illinois Field in Champaign, while the Class 3A and Class 4A finals will be held at Slammers Stadium in Joliet.
Where the Supersectional Games Will Unfold
Class 1A supersectional matchups are set for Bloomington, Springfield, DeKalb and Carbondale, each hosting a pair of teams vying for a spot in the championship bracket.
In Class 2A, the action will take place at Kane County, Carbondale, Peru and Springfield, providing a spread of venues across the state.
Class 3A will see its supersectional round hosted in Crestwood, Geneseo, Schaumburg and Decatur, while Class 4A’s slate includes Normal, Kane County, Schaumburg and Crestwood.
The geographic spread reflects the IHSA’s effort to balance competitive fields and accommodate fan travel, with each site offering modern facilities and established baseball traditions.
As the June 8 games approach, coaches and players alike are focusing on preparation, with many teams having completed rigorous regular‑season schedules and now turning their attention to the postseason pressure.
Fans can expect high‑stakes baseball, as the winners will earn the opportunity to compete for the state titles in the upcoming championship weekend.
