A milestone for Brown's defense
Brown University’s senior defensive lineman Ike Odimegwu has been selected to the Third Team of the Stats Perform FCS Preseason All‑American list, joining seven other Ivy League athletes who earned the distinction this year.
The honor follows a breakout junior season in which Odimegwu captured Second Team‑All‑Ivy honors and was named to the Phil Steele All‑Ivy second team, having posted nine sacks and ten tackles for loss that placed him second in the Ivy League and 16th nationally among FCS players.
Odimegwu enters his senior year with nine career sacks, ranking 13th in Brown’s record books, and sits 8.5 sacks behind the school’s all‑time leader Richard Jarvis, who amassed 17.5 sacks.
Teammates such as quarterback EJ Perry and linebacker Isaiah Reed are expected to benefit from the defensive front’s momentum as the Bears gear up for their 2026 opener.
The Bears will open the 2026 season on Saturday, September 19, traveling to New Haven to face their opponent, a matchup that adds a fresh narrative to the program’s defensive resurgence.
