The University of Illinois has released the kickoff times and television homes for the first three games of its 2026 football campaign, giving fans a first look at what the schedule will entail.
Early Schedule Highlights
The season opener is slated for Thursday, September 3, at 8 p.m. Central Time, and will be carried live on the Big Ten Network, marking the first test of the conference’s new broadcast arrangement.
A week later, on Saturday, September 12, the Illini host Duke at 2:30 p.m. CT, with the game airing on FS1, while the following Saturday, September 19, they travel to face Southern Illinois, streamed on Peacock at 1 p.m. CT.
Later in the year, two contests — November 6 against Nebraska at home and November 13 at UCLA — are already penciled in for Friday night primetime slots, a slot that the conference reserves for high‑profile matchups.
Homecoming will take place on October 3 against Purdue, and the road test at Michigan State on October 10 will be limited to a 4 p.m. CT start, with final kickoff times to be confirmed no later than twelve days before each game.
The university also reminded supporters that limited Fighting Illini season tickets remain on sale, and that the team’s recent on‑field successes have already drawn historic crowds to Memorial Stadium.
