The America East and Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference have teamed up for a first‑ever basketball showcase that will run from November 5 through November 8, 2026, with an additional men’s contest slated for November 16. The agreement, announced in 2025, marks a two‑year experiment that sits apart from the long‑standing Albany Cup rivalry between the University at Albany and Siena College.
All nine America East programs will field both men’s and women’s squads, while five Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference schools will compete in both divisions. Siena joins three other Metro members in the women’s bracket, whereas Iona, Saint Peter’s, Rider and Sacred Heart will appear only on the men’s side. The format pairs each participating team with two opponents from the opposite conference, guaranteeing a balanced slate of matchups.

The opening games are set for November 5 and 6, with subsequent contests unfolding through November 8. A special men’s game will be held on November 16 at the University at Albany’s home court, the Broadview Center, reviving the Albany Cup tradition in a new context.
