Inclement Weather Forces Rescheduling of Texas High School Baseball State Championships

Saturday games at Dell Diamond shift as the Class 5A Division II final moves to early morning

Weather Delays High School Baseball State Championships

A sudden bout of inclement weather has forced the University Interscholastic League to postpone several Texas high school baseball state championships that were slated for this weekend at Dell Diamond in Round Rock.

Rescheduling Details

The Class 5A Division II championship, originally set for a 7 p.m. Friday start, will now be played at 9 a.m. Saturday, a shift that ripples through the rest of the Saturday slate, pushing every other scheduled game later into the day.

Other title contests remain on the calendar, with the Class 1A championship between Gordon and Groveton Centerville slated for noon, the Class 6A Division I final between Keller and Austin Lake Travis at 3 p.m., and the Class 6A Division II showdown between Tomball and Houston Memorial at 6 p.m., all still at Dell Diamond. Ticket holders for the moved Class 5A game will be able to use their tickets on Saturday, and parking will be honored as originally planned.

The UIL has emphasized that the revised schedule is contingent on overnight weather conditions, and further communications will be issued as the forecast evolves.
