Global Coaches and Broadcasters Join Local Effort
The India Hockey 360 Festival drew to a close after a two-day gathering that brought together coaches, players and enthusiasts from across the country, marking a significant milestone in the nation's hockey development.
Organisers said the event was designed to accelerate the growth of roller, ball and ice hockey by linking India’s domestic community with seasoned professionals from North America, fostering knowledge exchange and technical advancement.
Interactive sessions under the Try Ball Hockey Activation let participants of all ages test their skills in a series of fast-paced drills, while a dedicated coaches’ summit offered deeper insight into elite training methods and strategic planning.
On Sunday the program moved to the Sector 10 skating rink where an elite roller hockey clinic and a 3×3 exhibition match showcased the sport’s evolving formats in front of a lively crowd, highlighting the practical application of the concepts discussed earlier.
The festival benefited from the backing of major partners including the National Hockey League, the Vancouver Canucks, Bauer Hockey and the Ice Hockey Association of India, with Harry Mahesh of the Abbotsford Canucks leading the on-ice clinic and Randip Janda, an NHL broadcaster, helping to coordinate the outreach.
Beyond skill development, officials emphasized that the gathering aimed to raise awareness of hockey in India and to lay groundwork for future player and coaching pipelines, signaling a long-term commitment to growing the sport nationwide.
