Indiana University’s men’s basketball team is set to open its exhibition schedule with a homecoming clash against Western Kentucky University on October 25 at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana.
The matchup follows an earlier exhibition announced against the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on October 18, giving the Hoosiers a chance to fine‑tune their lineup before the regular season begins.
A Brief History of the Series
The two programs have met only three times in regular‑season play, with Western Kentucky taking the first encounter 110‑91 in Dallas in 1967. Indiana has held the edge in the more recent meetings, winning in 1984 and 1993, and the teams have not faced each other since.
Both squads finished the 2025‑26 campaign with identical 18‑14 records, though the Hoosiers fell short of the NCAA Tournament for the third straight year after a 74‑61 loss to Northwestern in the Big Ten Tournament on March 11.
Key Players to Watch
Western Kentucky will field redshirt junior guard Teagan Moore, who averaged 18.7 points per game last season, alongside sophomore guard Armelo Boone (10.9 ppg) and senior guard LJ Hackman (8.5 ppg). The Hilltoppers have bolstered their frontcourt with sophomore forward EJ Walker from the University of South Carolina and sophomore guard Noah Norgaard, a transfer from UNC Greensboro.
Indiana’s roster will see the departure of senior forward Louie Semona and forward/center Noah Boyde, both entering the transfer portal, while the team looks to build around its returning core.
Tip‑off for the Evansville showdown is slated for 4 p.m., and tickets will go on sale beginning at 11 a.m. on June 26, offering fans an early chance to secure seats for what promises to be a competitive exhibition.
