Indiana Basketball Unveils 2026‑27 Non‑Conference Schedule

The Hoosiers schedule high‑profile games against Kentucky and Arkansas as they seek to end a three‑year NCAA Tournament drought.

Indiana University’s men’s basketball program has unveiled its non‑conference schedule for the 2026‑27 season, a 12‑game slate that pits the Hoosiers against a handful of power‑conference opponents.

Key Non‑Conference Matchups

The lineup includes two marquee home games outside the Big Ten: a showdown with Arkansas at Madison Square Garden in New York and a matchup with the University of Kentucky at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on November 20.

Coach Darian DeVries, now in his second year at the helm, will open the season on November 2 against Eastern Illinois University, a game that marks the first step of a roster that has been completely reshaped.

The previous season ended with an 18‑14 record, but the team fell short of the NCAA Tournament for the third straight year, a drought that the new coaching staff is eager to end.

Eleven players from last year’s squad have departed, making way for seven incoming transfers, four freshmen and two returning veterans, Sam Alexis and Trent Sisley.

Among the newcomers, former Atlantic Coast Conference scoring leader Markus Burton will anchor the backcourt, while 7‑foot‑2 Samet Yigitoglu, a transfer from Southern Methodist University, will provide size and presence in the frontcourt.

The schedule also features contests against a diverse set of opponents, ranging from Bellarmine University and Syracuse University to Tennessee Tech, Jacksonville University, Bowling Green State, Western Illinois, UCF, Missouri, Fairleigh Dickinson and others.

If the Hoosiers can translate their talent into results, the season could finally break the three‑year postseason slump and return the program to the national stage.
