Indiana Field Hockey has unveiled its 2026 campaign, a schedule that blends a rigorous Big Ten slate with a demanding non‑conference road trip.
The Hoosiers will play 16 regular‑season contests plus two exhibition matches, with eight of those games slated for their home venue, Deborah Tobias Field, located in Bloomington, Indiana.
Opening Weekend and Early Tests
The season opens with a neutral‑site showdown against Miami of Ohio in Louisville, Kentucky, before the team travels to face the Cardinals on the road the following night.
A Labor Day weekend round‑robin will bring New Hampshire and Central Michigan to Bloomington, giving the Hoosiers a chance to fine‑tune their lineup before conference play ramps up.
Conference Battles and Road Trips
Indiana will meet Iowa twice in Iowa City, splitting the series with a Friday conference clash and a Sunday non‑conference game, while later in the month the squad journeys to East Lansing to take on Michigan State and to Columbus for a showdown with Ohio State.
Mid‑season home games against Michigan, Ohio, Northwestern, Penn State and Maryland will give the Hoosiers a chance to leverage the familiar confines of Tobias Field as they push for a strong finish.
The regular season will close on the road at Rutgers on October 30, setting the stage for the Big Ten Tournament.
Big Ten Tournament in Columbus
The conference tournament is scheduled for November 5‑8 in Columbus, Ohio, where the Hoosiers will compete against the league’s top teams in a bid for postseason accolades.
Athletic director Kayla Bashore highlighted the blend of home‑field advantage and challenging away fixtures as a deliberate effort to prepare the team for the rigors of collegiate competition.
