Indiana University’s football program has announced that it will play host to Ohio linebacker Jahmiere Daniels-Portis for an official campus visit from May 29 through May 31. The three-day trip will bring the 3-star recruit to Bloomington, where he will get an up-close look at the Hoosiers’ facilities, coaching staff and teammates.

Daniels-Portis, a standout at Springfield High School in Ohio, is listed among the top 100 linebackers in the 2027 recruiting cycle by both 247Sports and On3/Rivals, holding the 83rd and 86th spots respectively. The 3-star rating reflects his blend of size, speed and playmaking ability that has drawn attention from programs across the Midwest.
Building a Defensive Identity
Under defensive coordinator Bryant Haines, Indiana has turned the linebacker position into a cornerstone of its defensive scheme, with recent seasons seeing the unit rank among the nation’s most improved. Key contributors such as Aiden Fisher, Jailin Walker, Isaiah Jones and Rolijah Hardy have helped shape a defense that is both aggressive and disciplined.
