Indiana University’s men’s basketball program is gearing up for the 2026‑27 campaign with a roster that now counts 13 scholarship athletes.
The Hoosiers finished the 2025‑26 season with an 18‑14 record but fell short of the NCAA tournament, marking the third straight year they missed the Big Dance.
A pair of veteran guards, Sam Alexis and Reed Bailey, have each secured a preliminary injunction that grants them an extra year of eligibility, meaning both are expected to return to Bloomington for the upcoming season.
At the same time, six players from last year’s squad have entered the transfer portal, including Tucker DeVries, Lamar Wilkerson, Tayton Conerway and Conor Enright, while others such as Jason Drake, Jasai Miles and Josh Harris have already committed to new programs.
The Hoosiers have bolstered the roster with seven newcomers acquired through the portal, among them Jaeden Mustaf from Georgia Tech, Darren Harris from Duke and Markus Burton from Notre Dame, while also welcoming four freshmen — Prince‑Alexander Moody, Vaughn Karvala, Trevor Manhertz and Clemens Sokolov — who arrived on campus in early June.
Recruiting class makes a statement
The incoming group has already generated buzz, with the class climbing into the top 20 nationally and adding depth at multiple positions, including a German center in Clemens Sokolov and a versatile wing in Prince‑Alexander Moody.
Coach Darian DeVries, now in his second year leading the program, has emphasized continuity and competition, noting that the blend of returning veterans, transfer additions and fresh talent creates a legitimate chance to end the tournament drought.
Fans will also see familiar faces such as Trent Sisley, who averaged 4.2 points and 2.8 rebounds last season and recently competed for the FISU America Games in Lima, Peru, and the returning Samet Yigitoglu, Aiden Sherrell and Bryce Lindsay, all of whom have been part of the squad’s offseason workouts.
With the new roster now set, the Hoosiers hope the chemistry forged during the summer will translate into on‑court success and a return to the NCAA tournament after a three‑year absence.
