Indiana’s men’s soccer program has moved up to the 22nd spot in the United Soccer Coaches preseason poll for the 2026 season, a modest but meaningful jump from the 25th position it held a year earlier. The rise comes as the team welcomes a wave of new talent, with 13 players joining the roster ahead of the upcoming campaign.
Among the newcomers is Stephane Njike, a Maryland transfer who earned second‑place honors in goals, assists and points for the Terrapins during the 2025 season. His addition is expected to bolster the attack and provide depth that the Hoosiers lacked in their previous run, which ended with a 1‑0 loss to Saint Louis University in the second round of the 2025 tournament.
Coach Todd Yeagley has emphasized that the early schedule will be a crucible for preparation, noting that key matchups against traditional rivals will test the team’s readiness for championship contention. The Hoosiers open the season at home against Notre Dame on August 20 at Bill Armstrong Stadium before traveling to face Washington, the preseason No. 1 team, on September 18 and Maryland, ranked seventh, on October 2.
