The Indiana men’s soccer team will begin its 2026 schedule with a home clash against Notre Dame on August 20 at Bill Armstrong Stadium, a match that will set the tone for a season marked by both continuity and change.
Four of the team’s top forwards from the 2025 campaign have moved on, leaving a significant gap in the attacking line that the coaching staff must address before the season opener.
Senior forward Collins Oduro remains the only returning starter on the front line, and while he contributed four goals and six assists last year, his shooting accuracy slipped from 9.4 % to 7.7 % between his freshman and sophomore seasons.
Enter Stephane Njike, a transfer from Maryland who arrived as the team’s primary forward prospect. Njike earned first‑team All‑Big Ten and All‑North Region honors in his lone season with the Terrapins, scoring seven goals and establishing himself as a reliable finisher.
New Faces in the Mix
The coaching staff also brought in Oliver Moller‑Jensen and Bennett Painter, both of whom saw action in an exhibition victory over Bowling Green. Moller‑Jensen, a junior who was named second‑team All‑Conference in 2025 after posting 18 points, and Painter, whose shot‑on‑goal rate rose from 48.1 % to 50 % between his sophomore and junior years, are expected to compete for minutes.
Alongside the newcomers, redshirt senior Luka Bezerra, junior Easton Bogard and senior Clay Murador will battle for starting spots, while a group of freshmen will add depth to the roster.
Coach Todd Yeagley, who has guided the program for several seasons, has emphasized that the blend of experience and youthful energy will determine how quickly the team can adapt to the new‑look attack.
