A historic milestone looms
Indiana University’s football team is projected to sell out all eight of its home games during the 2026 season, a milestone that would mark the first time since 1969 that the Hoosiers have completely filled their schedule.
The capacity of Memorial Stadium has grown from 48,344 seats in 1969 to 52,656 today, reflecting ongoing upgrades that have expanded the venue’s reach.
In the past two years the program has already sold out four home games in both 2024 and 2025, contributing to eight sellouts out of 18 contests since the stadium’s expansion in 1970, underscoring a surge in fan interest.
The highest single‑game attendance in school history remains the 56,223 fans who watched the 1969 matchup, while a recent game against Illinois drew 56,088 spectators, and the 2024 attendance record of 386,992 fans across the season illustrates the growing demand.
Compounding the excitement, the Hoosiers are currently on a 15‑game home winning streak, the longest in the nation, which has only amplified the appetite for tickets.
Ticket sales are managed through a combination of season packages, mini‑bundles and single‑game purchases, and the official website currently lists no seats available, reflecting the rapid pace at which tickets are being claimed.
