The IBCA/IHSAA Boys Underclass Showcase took place at Ben Davis High School in Indiana, gathering some of the state’s most promising sophomores and juniors.
While standouts such as Isaiah Hill, Jason Gardner Jr. and Jahari Miller were absent, having traveled to the NBPA Top 100 Camp in Virginia, the event still delivered a deep pool of talent.
Player Spotlights
Varschon Clark of Hamilton Southeastern emerged as an athletic guard, posting a sophomore average of 13.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.3 steals per game.
Devin Colbert Jr. from Decatur Central proved a defensive pest, averaging 11.4 points, 4.4 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals as a junior.
Caleb Coolman of Penn, a playmaking guard, caught the eye of several college programs after delivering 21.0 points, 8.4 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game as a sophomore.
Chandon Gilbert, a 6‑7 junior‑to‑be from Lawrence North, showed his shooting touch, averaging 10.2 points while hitting 35.8% from three‑point range last season.
Joban Kalkat of Whiteland displayed smooth ball‑handling skills, putting up 16.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists as a junior.
Elijah King of South Bend St. Joseph emerged as a big‑time scorer, averaging 19.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.3 steals as a junior.
Zavier Laney from Center Grove contributed as an athletic guard, averaging 10.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists as a junior.
Micah Mohler, a rising sophomore from Austin, helped his team to a 17‑9 record and a Class 2A regional title, averaging 21.5 points per game.
Luke Vandegriff of Westfield, a 6‑10 forward, is poised for a strong senior season after posting 8.7 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.1 blocked shots as a junior.
Kaleb Young of Gary 21st Century, a 6‑8 rising senior, managed 6.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocked shots per game despite missing much of the season due to injury.
