The Iowa Baseball Coaches Association has announced its all-district selections, honoring more than three dozen standout athletes from the Messengerland region. The list reflects a deep pool of talent, with six players from Fort Dodge and St. Edmond alone earning first-team honors.
Among them, junior catcher Bo Marsh stood out with a .422 batting average, 31 runs batted in and 43 hits, earning a spot on the first team. His consistent performance at the plate made him one of the most feared hitters in the class.
Historic Milestones
Tru McBride, also a first-team selection, posted a .412 average while smashing 12 home runs and breaking the program record with 12 triples. His 56 RBIs topped the season record, surpassing a 1996 mark that had stood for three decades.
The association also recognized Kolton Schiltz, who hit .400 with seven homers, 10 doubles and 15 stolen bases, and pitcher Tanner Peterson, who fanned 50 batters while posting a 3.18 ERA. Both earned second-team honors.
Freshman Blake Bartlett added a .413 average with four homers and six doubles, landing on the second team as well. Across the region, additional first-team selections from teams such as Valley Davis, Pocahontas Area and Emmetsburg further illustrated the depth of competition.
A Legacy of Excellence
The repeated acknowledgments of players from Fort Dodge, St. Edmond and neighboring programs signal a sustained era of success. With multiple athletes earning first- and second-team honors, the region’s programs are poised to remain competitive in upcoming state tournaments.
