Hawkeyes Highlighted in National Watch List
Sofia Bush and Millie Greer, both senior members of the University of Iowa women’s soccer team, have been selected for the MAC Herman Trophy Watch List, a preseason acknowledgment that highlights the nation’s top prospects.
Bush, a midfielder, earns her fourth consecutive preseason nod, underscoring her consistent impact. United Soccer Coaches named her a ‘Midfielder to Watch’, she was recognized as a Big Ten Player to Watch, and she sits at No. 57 on Top Drawer Soccer’s Preseason Women’s Soccer Top 100.
Greer, a defender, marks her third appearance on the watch list and also receives her fourth preseason honor. United Soccer Coaches labeled her a ‘Defender to Watch’, she appears on the Big Ten Player to Watch list, and she is ranked No. 72 on Top Drawer Soccer’s Preseason Women’s Top 100.
The Hermann Trophy’s Legacy
The Hermann Trophy, presented annually by the Missouri Athletic Club, is considered the premier individual award in women’s soccer, honoring the Division I Player of the Year based on votes from head coaches across the country.
The 2026 award ceremony will take place on January 8, 2027, in St. Louis, Missouri, where the finalists will be revealed. Iowa’s season kicks off Wednesday with a home match against Milwaukee at the Iowa Soccer Complex, an event that will be open to fans without charge.
