The Iowa baseball community celebrated a wave of all‑state selections this week, as the Iowa Baseball Coaches Association announced its Super Team roster and leadership award recipients for the 2026 season.
Indianola Leads the Pack in Class 4A Honors
At Indianola, senior George Blake capped his season by being named Class 4A Captain of the IBCA Super Team, while Bryant Ritchie earned the prestigious Gary and Sandy Nyhus Leadership Award for his on‑field contributions and sportsmanship.
The Blue‑and‑Gold also saw Zach Benge honored as the Class 4A First Team Catcher, Bo Blake selected at Third Base, Asher Bruek earning Second Team First Base, Jackson Foust recognized as a Third Team Pitcher, and Dax Heimbaugh named a Third Team Outfielder.
Pleasantville and Other Schools Shine in Lower Classes
Pleasantville’s JJ Phillips was crowned Class 2A Captain and secured a spot on the IBCA Super Team, while Brayden Kennedy earned First Team Pitcher honors and Logan Roff was selected as First Team Catcher. Easton Cox added a Utility First Team nod, rounding out a strong showing for the club.
Additional recognitions came from Knoxville, where Lincoln Norris earned First Team Shortstop in Class 3A, and from Lynnville‑Sully’s Jaiden Richards, who was named First Team Second Base in Class 1A. Martensdale St. Marys contributed several honorees, including Travis White (First Team Pitcher), Colton Wight (First Team Third Base), Cooper Hamilton (Third Team Catcher) and Owen Fitzpatrick (Third Team Outfielder).
Baxter’s Cael Wishman and Colton Moffit also received Second Team Catcher and Third Team Pitcher accolades respectively, underscoring the depth of talent across the state’s diverse classifications.
The breadth of selections reflects a vibrant high school baseball landscape, with schools from rural to suburban settings competing for the same honors, and sets the stage for next season’s expectations.
