In the Class 3A showdown, Des Moines Hoover edged Norwalk 4‑3, with Esanda Kilozo striking the decisive goal in the 74th minute after Norwalk had surged to a 2‑0 lead early through Hudson Ford and Eli Scavo.
Waukee Northwest captured the Class 4A crown, defeating Ankeny Centennial 3‑1; all four goals arrived after halftime, courtesy of Sully Ervin, Eman Alicic and Jose Venales, while Danny Andino had opened the scoring for the Huskies.
Iowa City Regina secured the Class 1A title with a 3‑2 victory over Council Bluffs St. Albert, as Laird Holden delivered a hat‑trick to swing momentum in Regina’s favor.
The Class 2A final, delayed by inclement weather, is slated for Saturday and will pit Des Moines Christian against Gilbert; Paul Bruggeman’s sudden‑death winner in the semifinal has added extra intrigue to the upcoming match.
