Semifinal round games were held Wednesday inside Mediacom Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa, setting the stage for finals scheduled across Friday, June 5, and Saturday, June 6.
Class 3A Championship Set for Noon
In the Class 3A semifinals, Norwalk defeated Cedar Rapids Xavier 2‑0, with Eli Scavo netting both goals and Jacoby Robbins making eight saves in goal. Des Moines Hoover edged Dallas Center‑Grimes 1‑0, thanks to a solitary strike from Isack Ramadhani, while goalkeeper Jacoby Robbins again stood tall with eight stops.
The Class 3A championship will open at noon on Friday, pitting Norwalk against Des Moines Hoover in a rematch of the semifinal heroics.
Class 4A action saw Ankeny Centennial battle Des Moines Roosevelt to a 4‑3 overtime victory, while Waukee Northwest secured a 1‑0 win behind Eman Alicic’s decisive goal. Alicic, already nominated for the High School On SI Iowa Boys Soccer Player of the Year in Class 4A, will lead the Wolves into the title match at 2:30 p.m. Tate Schendel posted five saves for Waukee Northwest.
In Class 1A, Iowa City Regina Catholic advanced to the finals after a 1‑0 penalty‑kick triumph over West Central Valley, with Mason Fortney making 12 saves and Nolan Leick adding three more for the Wildcats. Council Bluffs St. Albert also reached the championship, defeating West Sioux 3‑2. Kyle Irwin scored twice, Konstantine Poulos‑Schweer contributed one, and Ottow Wahle recorded ten saves for the victors.
The Class 2A semifinal saw Gilbert post a 2‑0 win over Sioux City Bishop Heelan, but the championship match has been postponed and will now be played Saturday morning.
