Jimmy Rogers is set to take the reins of the Iowa State football program in 2026, ushering in a new chapter for the Cyclones. In his first public remarks, Rogers asked the fan base to remain steadfast, emphasizing that the community’s unwavering support will be a cornerstone as the team navigates this transition.
A season of promise
The program’s recent history reflects a steady climb in attendance, a trend that began under former head coach Matt Campbell and has continued to gain momentum. Campbell’s tenure produced 20 of the school’s 22 all‑time sell‑out crowds, and the Cyclones have cracked the national top 30 in average home attendance eight times since 2016.
Athletic director Jamie Pollard says the numbers are more than just statistics; they represent a growing appetite among supporters. Ticket sales for Rogers’ debut season have already outpaced expectations, with season‑ticket renewals priced identically to the 2025 slate and new purchases starting at $309.
The 2026 schedule features five home contests before the second week of October, including matchups against Oklahoma State, Cincinnati and Kansas State. The game against Kansas State marks the final installment of a series that dates back to 1916, adding a layer of historic significance to the season.
Rogers, who has spent weeks studying the roster and staff, expressed excitement about the upcoming campaign. He highlighted the hard work of both players and coaches, noting that the foundation is solid and the ambition is clear: to translate fan enthusiasm into on‑field success.
