Elite Team Honors
The Register’s All‑Iowa teams have once again spotlighted the cream of the state’s high school girls soccer talent, naming an Elite Team of 11 players who distinguished themselves across every class.
Selection criteria encompassed a player’s entire season, from regular‑season contributions to postseason results, while also weighing team success and overall impact on the field.
State Champions by Class
Waukee Northwest captured the Class 3A crown, North Polk secured the 2A title, and Hudson claimed the inaugural 1A championship, each program benefiting from a core of standout athletes who drove their squads to victory.
Senior forward Stella Braddock of Waukee propelled her team to the state tournament and will continue her career at South Dakota State, while junior midfielder Taylor Davis of Hudson finished the year with 40 goals and 19 assists, a rare combination that helped the Bulldogs clinch their first championship.
Morgan Crees from Panorama topped the state with 53 goals, Addison Flinn of North Polk led her program to its first title with 29 goals, and Dreya Kern of Linn‑Mar dished out a state‑leading 28 assists before heading to South Dakota State as well.
Defender Tatum Miller from Norwalk anchored a back line that limited opponents, while goalkeeper Grace Thomason of Waukee Northwest posted a 93.5% save percentage and recorded 13 shutouts in her final season.
Addy Oetker of Des Moines Christian, Olivia Rotich from West Des Moines Valley, Addyson Shepard of Denver, and Izzy Simonini of Waukee Northwest all earned spots at Division I programs, including Bemidji State, Northwestern College, Iowa State and Drake, signaling a bright pipeline of talent for the next level.
Coaches and analysts agree that the depth of talent on this year’s list promises an exciting future for Iowa soccer, with several players poised to make immediate impacts at the collegiate level and beyond.
