Isabel Vasco, a senior at Green River High School, has been honored as the Gatorade Wyoming Girls Soccer Player of the Year for the 2025‑26 season, a distinction that highlights her extraordinary impact on the pitch.
A season to remember
During the campaign she netted 54 goals and contributed 10 assists, topping the state’s scoring charts and guiding the Green River Wolves to the 4A state tournament consolation match. Her performance built on a record‑breaking career in which she sits atop the all‑time leaderboard with 224 goals.
Beyond the numbers, Vasco’s accolades include three First Team All‑State selections, five Region IV Olympic Development Program nods, and two West Region Player of the Year titles in basketball, underscoring her versatility as a two‑sport standout.
In the classroom she maintained a 4.15 weighted GPA, earning recognition as a finalist for the Milward Simpson Award, which celebrates the state’s most outstanding female athlete. Her commitment to service is evident through years of 4‑H involvement and multiple community‑service projects.
Next fall she will continue her soccer career on scholarship at the University of Wyoming, where coaches anticipate she will help raise the program’s competitive edge. The Gatorade honor also comes with a grant that Vasco plans to direct toward a social‑impact partner, joining a national effort that has already distributed over $6.4 million to more than 2,200 organizations.
