A Versatile Addition to the Panthers
The University of Northern Iowa announced the addition of Isaiah Johnson-Arigu to its men’s basketball squad for the upcoming 2026-27 season, marking the seventh signing of the spring class and the fifth Division I transfer.
Standing at 6-7 and weighing 215 pounds, Johnson-Arigu brings a blend of athleticism, length, and versatility that Coach Kyle Green believes will enhance the team’s defensive and offensive options.
During his tenure at the University of St. Thomas, he helped the Tommies post a 24-10 record and secure their first Division I postseason appearance, averaging 10.5 points and 4 rebounds per game.
Before college, he was a three-time state champion at Totino-Grace in Minnesota and a top-five finalist for the Minnesota Mr. Basketball Award, having posted 20.2 points, 8.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game in his senior year.
He also previously played at Miami (FL) before transferring midseason to Iowa, adding a unique blend of experiences that should enrich the Panthers’ culture.
