Community Soccer Celebration
The Island FC, in partnership with Nassau County and County Executive Bruce Blakeman, will host a second free public viewing event for the United States Men’s National Team’s FIFA World Cup 26 Round of 32 match on July 1 at Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre in Eisenhower Park.
Building on the record‑breaking turnout of more than 6,700 fans at the inaugural “Soccer in the Park” watch party on June 19, organizers say the upcoming gathering aims to keep the momentum alive as the tournament moves into its knockout stage.
Gates will open at 6 p.m., with the screening kicking off at 7 p.m., ahead of the 8 p.m. kickoff, offering fans large video screens, giveaways, family‑friendly activities, merchandise, concessions and beverages.
Free tickets are available through registration at TheIslandFC.com, and guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for a comfortable outdoor experience. Free parking will be provided on‑site, with Lot 6 and Lot 6A located closest to the venue.
Travis Lamprecht, president of business operations for The Island FC, highlighted the strong soccer community on Long Island, while County Executive Bruce Blakeman noted that the enthusiastic response made extending the event a straightforward decision.
The event also aligns with America 250 celebrations taking place across Nassau County, underscoring a broader national spirit as the United States prepares to co‑host the 2026 World Cup.
Looking ahead, The Island FC, an MLS NEXT Pro club, plans to launch its professional team in 2027, using initiatives like this to grow the sport locally.
