The program, overseen by Ironi Beit Shemesh FC coaches Tal Ayala and Liad Elad, kicked off with an intensive training session that welcomed dozens of South African students. Ayala spoke about the diversity of Israel’s soccer landscape, noting how the country’s leagues have been shaped by talent from abroad, including Brazilian stars.
Israeli coaches not only demonstrated technical drills but also recounted personal journeys, illustrating how sport can translate into leadership and community building. Participants received jerseys emblazoned with the logos of Ironi Beit Shemesh, Hapoel Mateh Yehuda and a special commemorative shirt honoring the late Captain Tomer Shoham, who founded a youth league team in 2016.
