At 27, Solomon arrives with a reputation for pace, dribbling flair and an eye for goal, having earned 49 caps for Israel and netted eight times at senior level. His playing style, characterised by quick feet and incisive runs down the left flank, offers the Hammers a fresh attacking outlet.
Solomon’s professional journey began in the youth setups of Israel before he moved to England, where a stint with Tottenham Hotspur failed to deliver regular top‑flight football. He subsequently built his reputation on the continent, winning three Ukrainian league titles with Shakhtar Donetsk and enjoying loan spells at Villarreal, ACF Fiorentina, Fulham and Leeds United. At Fiorentina he contributed two goals in 16 league appearances, a modest but meaningful return that highlighted his adaptability.
The winger’s arrival also rekindles a connection between West Ham and Israeli talent. Former Hammers such as Eyal Berkovic and Yossi Benayoun, who enjoyed successful spells in the late 1990s and early 2000s, are remembered fondly by the fanbase, while defenders Tal Ben‑Haim and forward Yaniv Katan also left their mark during earlier chapters of the club’s history.
