Final day drama on the sand
Italy completed an immaculate unbeaten run to capture the Women’s Euro Beach Soccer League Regular Phase title in Moldova 2026, sealing the championship with a 4–1 victory over Belgium.
From the opening minutes, Maria Fabiana Vecchione opened the scoring for Italy before Illiano added a second, giving the Italians a comfortable lead at the half‑time break. Belgium managed to pull one back through Maurane’s late strike, but Italy restored their two‑goal advantage after the break with a goal from Massa.
Portugal, meanwhile, fought back from a first‑half deficit to edge Poland 4–3. After Constança opened the scoring for Portugal, Inês Cruz struck twice in quick succession before Flores sealed the win with a fourth goal. Poland’s late rally, featuring goals from Konobrodzka, Korda and Słowy, fell just short.
The tournament’s most valuable player, Maria Fabiana Vecchione, finished as the competition’s top scorer with five goals, including the decisive strike in the final. Her performances underscored Italy’s dominance throughout the regular phase.
Goalkeeper Martina Galloni was recognized as the Best Goalkeeper at the awards ceremony, capping a strong defensive display from the Italian side.
The championship concluded with a celebration of emerging talent across the continent, as teams from Belgium, Poland and Portugal demonstrated growing competitiveness in women’s beach soccer.
