IU Athletics Unveils New Fan Experiences for 2026 Hoosier Football Season

Enhanced gameday activities, upgraded stadium amenities, and expanded student ticket access aim to deepen engagement at Memorial Stadium

A New Era of Fan Engagement

Indiana University’s athletics department has rolled out a sweeping set of gameday enhancements ahead of the 2026 Hoosier football season, promising fans a more immersive experience at Memorial Stadium. The initiatives blend interactive traditions with upgraded amenities, all aimed at deepening connection between the team and its supporters.

One of the most eye‑catching additions is the Team Runout Experience, which invites supporters to sprint onto the field alongside the squad before kickoff. Adding to the spectacle, the beloved mascot Hoosier the Bison will lead the procession in a custom‑painted IndyCar, creating a visual bridge between campus spirit and high‑octane racing.

Tailgating receives a major boost with the debut of the Indiana Football AAA Championship Tailgate. The celebration features a 15‑foot College Football Playoff National Championship Trophy, live bands, food trucks and a dedicated kids zone. New tailgating rules now restrict the activity to designated grass areas or directly behind vehicles, ensuring safety and smoother access for all attendees.

The stadium’s culinary offerings are being expanded with nearly 42 new points of sale, including Buffalouie’s Flatbread pizzas and a Competition Brisket Sandwich. A pop‑up IU Team Store on the east side will sell officially licensed merchandise, giving fans fresh ways to showcase their Hoosier pride.

Students will benefit from a revamped Season Ticket Claim Process that adds 5,000 tickets, a 45 percent increase over previous allocations. In addition, Merchants Bank Field at Memorial Stadium will host almost 2,000 more season parking passes across newly opened lots such as the Sembower/Tundra and 12th Street lots, improving access for the growing student body.

Connectivity upgrades include a Cell on Wheels deployment by AT&T and upgraded cellular antennas throughout the bowl, ensuring robust mobile service for fans who want to stream, share and engage in real time. The GoIU mobile app has been refreshed to provide a streamlined experience, offering live scores, ticket management and in‑stadium shopping options.

Premium seating options grow with two new field‑level suites and two Loge Box Suites added to the northeast and southeast corners. These enhancements, together with expanded parking and improved wireless infrastructure, position Memorial Stadium to deliver a world‑class experience for every attendee.
