Izzie Segreti, a senior midfielder from Sycamore, capped her high school career with a spectacular performance that saw her net 27 goals and dish out 18 assists. Her contributions helped the Spartans finish the season with a 15‑10 record, capture a regional championship and share the Interstate 8 title after a decisive rematch victory over Kaneland.
A season to remember
The Daily Chronicle recognized her dominance by naming her the 2026 Girls Soccer Player of the Year, an honor that follows her repeated selections to the All‑Area First Team in both 2024 and 2025.
Beyond high school, Segreti has committed to Loras College, drawn by the school’s vibrant culture and its recent run of success, which includes Sweet 16 appearances in the NCAA Division III tournament in 2022 and 2024.
Coach Bickley praised her as a smart, multi‑faceted player with dangerous field vision, noting that her leadership will be missed on the field but is expected to translate into immediate impact for the Duhawks.
Teammates such as Cortni Kruinzenga, Addison Rodriguez and Marin Gautcher also played pivotal roles throughout the campaign, contributing to a season that will be remembered as one of the most competitive in recent Sycamore history.
