Izzy Armstrong, a freshman forward for Hartland High School, has been crowned the Livingston County girls soccer Player of the Year after a breakout season that saw her net 15 goals and add six assists.
A Freshman Phenom on the Rise
Armstrong transferred from Novi to Hartland this year, instantly becoming the team’s primary scoring threat. Her 15 goals topped the county, and her six assists placed her among the league leaders, tying Brighton’s Maya Bjedov for the most points.
The Eagles rode her hot streak to the state Division 1 semifinals, highlighted by decisive goals in the KLAA championship win over Northville and the district final against Bloomfield Hills.
Beyond the stats, Armstrong’s impact extended to her club roots with Legends FC out of Brighton’s Legacy Center, a program that has produced several collegiate standouts. Her mother’s upbringing near Marquette sparked a long‑standing connection to Northern Michigan University, a relationship that began when Armstrong was still at Novi.
Now committed to continue her soccer career at Northern Michigan University, Armstrong reflects on a childhood dream of playing college soccer, a goal she has pursued since she was a little kid. With a strong foundation at Hartland and a promising future ahead, she is poised to make her mark on the national stage.
