A New Chapter for the Gladiators
Jack Blake, a 24‑year‑old defenseman, has signed a professional contract with the Atlanta Gladiators for the 2026‑27 ECHL season, marking the player’s first step onto the pro rink.
Blake’s junior career began with the Oakville Blades of the Ontario Junior Hockey League, where he appeared in 30 games and recorded two assists before moving west to the Provo Riverblades of the USPHL Premier, posting 14 points in 17 contests.
He then pursued collegiate hockey at Bowling Green State University, appearing in 62 career games and contributing three assists while refining his defensive responsibilities against top Division I opponents.
Earlier in his development, Blake spent two seasons with the Shattuck St. Mary’s 18U Prep team, accumulating 38 points — four goals and 34 assists — across 94 games, a stint that helped shape his playmaking instincts.
Born in Manhattan Beach, California, Blake honed his skills in the Los Angeles Jr. Kings program before embarking on a junior path that took him to Ontario, Utah, and finally Ohio, illustrating a trans‑continental trajectory that now ends in Atlanta.
A Trans‑Continental Path
With his professional debut on the horizon, Blake joins a Gladiators roster seeking fresh talent, and his trans‑continental journey reflects the global reach of modern hockey development.
