Jackson High School’s football program, under the direction of head coach Jay Rohr, is entering the 2026 season with a mix of experience and fresh talent. After finishing last year with a 6‑6 record, the team is looking to build on a schedule that includes matchups against Hudson, Wadsworth, and Warren Harding, among other regional rivals.
A revamped roster
The roster features a deep group of lettermen on both sides of the ball, giving the coaching staff flexibility to experiment with formations and personnel packages. Several players have attracted college interest, and the coaching staff expects the added depth to help shore up weaknesses that were exposed in the previous season.
Defensive anchor Reese Myers
Among the standouts is Reese Myers, a top defensive prospect who recorded 106 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and nine sacks last year. His ability to disrupt opposing offenses makes him a cornerstone of the defense and a player to watch for recruiters.
Quarterback Carter Muhleman
At quarterback, Carter Muhleman will take over the starting role. He threw for 1,187 yards, nine touchdowns and three interceptions in his previous season as a backup, showing a capacity to manage the game and deliver in key moments.
Schedule and expectations
The 2026 slate opens with a season‑opening win over Chardon, a game in which running back Chase Maurer rushed for 143 yards. Subsequent contests against Hudson, Wadsworth and Warren Harding will test the team’s progress, while additional non‑conference opponents such as Lake, Green and Perry will provide further opportunities to fine‑tune the offense and defense.
