For the fifth consecutive year, Jacksons Food Stores has teamed up with Boise State University to release a limited‑edition collection of Bronco football trading cards. The collaboration, which began as a modest promotional effort, has grown into a cultural touchstone for fans across the Treasure Valley and beyond, merging the excitement of college football with the world of licensed collectibles.
Five Years of Card Collecting
The 2026 edition arrives with 14 cards per pack and a 10 percent chance of pulling a signed "signature" card from a roster of eleven standout student‑athletes. Names such as Cam Bates, Dylan Riley, Maddux Madsen and Jeramiah Dickey appear on the cards, which are distributed exclusively through Jacksons locations throughout Idaho.
ONIT, the leading producer of officially‑licensed collegiate trading cards, introduced four fresh insert designs — General Admission, Game Day, Dynamic Shift and Hype — each with a signature variant that adds a premium touch. A new base parallel featuring a blue‑and‑orange checkerboard pattern, limited to just 50 copies, further distinguishes this year’s release.
Design Innovations and Historical Milestones
The set includes 116 base cards plus two tradition cards that commemorate the 40th anniversary of The Blue and the North End Zone Project, linking past achievements with present ambitions. Maddux Madsen becomes the first Bronco football player to appear as a signature athlete across three different seasons, while six players have been featured in every Bronco set released over the past five years.
Beyond the collectibles, the partnership underscores a broader commitment to name‑image‑likeness (NIL) opportunities for student‑athletes. Revenue generated from card sales and licensing agreements flows back to the athletes, supporting their educational and athletic pursuits while giving fans a tangible way to celebrate their favorite players.
Jacksons Food Stores, a convenience‑store chain with more than 300 locations spanning Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, California and Utah, continues to serve as the primary retail outlet for the cards. The collaboration not only drives foot traffic to stores but also reinforces the brand’s dedication to community engagement and local economic development.
