Jacob Graves Re‑signs with Adirondack Thunder for 2026‑27 Season

Veteran defenseman brings experience and physicality after a productive 2025‑26 campaign

The Adirondack Thunder announced this week that they have re‑signed defenseman Jacob Graves to a contract for the upcoming 2026‑27 season.

A veteran’s impact

Graves, 31, wrapped up the previous campaign with 13 points and 205 penalty minutes across 66 games, a performance that helped the team maintain its defensive stability.

Over his extensive ECHL career, which spans 444 regular‑season games for several franchises, he has accumulated 98 points and 962 penalty minutes, underscoring his reputation as a physical presence on the blue line.

His professional journey also includes 42 AHL appearances for the Cleveland Monsters, where he added eight points and 58 penalty minutes, as well as stints with the South Carolina Stingrays, the Utica Comets and the New Jersey Devils organization.

Before turning pro, Graves honed his skills in the Ontario Hockey League, skating for Mississauga, Kingston, Oshawa and London, and was part of a championship‑winning London Knights squad that captured both the OHL and Memorial Cup titles in 2015‑16.

General manager Chris McKinney praised the re‑signing, noting that Graves’s blend of toughness and reliability will be vital as the Thunder aim to contend for the Brabham Cup once again.
