Jacob Norcross, a 6‑foot‑4, 310‑pound junior, is set to anchor the middle of Nevada’s offensive line for the 2026 campaign, bringing a blend of size, experience and a home‑state pedigree that has fans eager to see the Wolf Pack’s interior dominate.
The son of Cameron Norcross, who returned to Reno after a decade of coaching stints at Kennesaw State and Memphis, grew up watching his father’s playbooks and now finds himself back on the same turf where he starred at Bishop Gorman High School, a program that has produced multiple state titles.
A Homecoming With Purpose
After earning Conference USA All‑Freshman honors at Kennesaw State in 2024, Norcross transferred to Memphis for the 2025 season, appearing in five games with a start in the Gasparilla Bowl against North Carolina State, before electing to return to the Silver and Gold.
This offseason, head coach Chris Murray announced that Norcross will line up as the starting center, succeeding four‑year veteran Andrew Madrigal, and will be flanked by returning tackles Jack Foster and Zach Cochnauer, forming a unit that hopes to restore the ground game that powered Nevada’s most recent bowl appearance.
Beyond the statistics, Norcross’s three‑time state championship pedigree at Bishop Gorman reflects a competitive fire that coaches say will translate into a stabilizing force for a line that has faced inconsistency in recent years.
The return of a local product brings more than just talent; it signals a cultural shift for a program seeking to reconnect with its roots while aiming for a resurgence on the national stage.
