Leadership Evolution at UNC Women's Basketball
Jaelynn Murray Burrus has been named Director of Women's Basketball at the University of North Carolina, moving up from her previous role as Assistant Director of Recruiting Operations.
Head coach Courtney Banghart praised her leadership and work ethic, emphasizing the influence she has had on the program’s development.
Burrus expressed gratitude for the opportunity, stating her commitment to elevating the team’s performance and culture.
She brings three years of recruiting experience and academic credentials that include a 2021 bachelor's degree in Information Science and a 2022 master's in educational innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship.
Burrus also becomes the second former player on staff, joining Liz Roberts, who serves as the team’s General Manager.
The promotion reflects the university’s focus on continuity, blending playing experience with administrative leadership to drive the program forward.
