The basketball world in the Dakotas erupted in celebration as Jaime Adams, a former North Dakota State standout and current assistant coach, was officially inducted into the South Dakota High School Basketball Hall of Fame this year.
A High School Star is Born
Adams first made her mark at Watertown High School, where she started for four seasons, led the team to four state tournament appearances and was a key member of the 1993 Class AA championship squad.
College Triumphs
At North Dakota State University she contributed to the 2000 NCAA Division II national runner‑up team, earned Daktronics Division II All‑American third‑team honors and later entered the Bison Athletic Hall of Fame in 2019.
Coaching Milestones
Since joining the NDSU coaching staff in 2008, Adams has been part of a turnaround that produced the program’s first Summit League regular‑season title and a streak of four consecutive postseason tournament berths.
Hall of Fame Class of 2026
The 2026 induction class comprised twelve exceptional players, each of whom left a distinct imprint on South Dakota’s basketball heritage; Adams’ inclusion reflects both her on‑court achievements and her off‑court influence.
Looking Forward
Today, as she continues to mentor Bison athletes, Adams’ trajectory from a small‑town standout to a hall‑of‑fame inductee serves as an enduring blueprint for aspiring players across the region.
