Goatheads lock in Chiasson for upcoming campaign
The New Mexico Goatheads have announced the addition of forward Jake Chiasson ahead of the 2026‑27 ECHL season, cementing a veteran presence that the club hopes will translate into deeper playoff runs.
Chiasson, who turns 27 this summer, arrives after three professional seasons that have seen him split time between the ECHL and the American Hockey League, accumulating 35 points in 102 ECHL appearances and 20 points in 40 AHL games.
His career trajectory began in 2023‑24 with the Fort Wayne Komets, where he posted 20 points in 68 games, and continued with stints at the Bakersfield Condors, Allen Americans, Belleville Senators and Orlando Solar Bears, providing a versatile offensive skill set.
During the most recent 2025‑26 campaign he contributed eight points in 14 games for the Allen Americans and Belleville Senators, and added a further two points in 20 games with the Orlando Solar Bears, underscoring his ability to adapt quickly to new environments.
The Goatheads, an ECHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche and Colorado Eagles, view Chiasson’s experience as a strategic asset as they aim to blend youthful talent with proven depth for the upcoming season.
Club management emphasized that his proven track record will bolster the roster, noting his work ethic and versatility will complement the team’s offensive schemes and power‑play units.
