A Familiar Face Returns to the Swamp Rabbits
Jake Murray, a seasoned defenseman, has agreed to a new deal with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits for the 2026‑27 ECHL season, the team announced this week.
During the prior campaign he appeared in 64 games, contributing 20 points while posting a plus‑16 rating, and he also wore an alternate captain’s letter, underscoring his leadership role.
Murray’s professional journey includes two AHL call‑ups, first with the Abbotsford Canucks and later with the Rockford IceHogs, where he continued to demonstrate his defensive reliability.
Before turning pro, the Oakville native spent five seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Kingston Frontenacs and the Guelph Storm, honing the physical style that now defines his play.
Overall, Murray has amassed 64 points in 164 ECHL appearances and brings a blend of experience and hometown pride that the Swamp Rabbits hope will translate into a competitive edge.
