Pote’s extensive career as a sportswriter for The Sun, the Boston Herald and the Eagle‑Tribune spans more than 25 years, during which he has chronicled high school, college and professional sport across New England. Central to the narrative is Mike Esposito, the only Wildcats player to reach the National Football League. Esposito’s professional career with the Atlanta Falcons was accompanied by a Hall of Fame tenure at Boston College, where his performances cemented his status as a gridiron legend.
