Batesville High School has named Jared Keck as the new head coach of its varsity baseball program, elevating him from his previous role as assistant coach. The announcement comes as the Bulldogs look to build on a strong 2023 campaign that culminated in a sectional championship.
A Fresh Leadership Chapter
Keck brings a decade‑long involvement with the program, having served as an assistant during the 2022‑23 season and previously guiding the junior varsity squad. Before joining Batesville, he spent four years as an assistant at South Ripley High School and contributed to the coaching staff at Indiana University Southeast, where he also played collegiately.
Under his guidance, the Bulldogs finished the 2023 season with a 17‑11 record and captured a Class 3A sectional title, underscoring the program’s upward trajectory. The school community anticipates that Keck’s blend of playing experience and coaching acumen will sustain that momentum.
Keck’s appointment reflects the school’s confidence in continuity and growth. Athletic Director Melissa Turner praised his deep understanding of the team culture and his proven ability to develop talent, noting that his leadership will be pivotal as the program aims for further regional success.
