Chicharito's Dallas Debut
Javier Hernández, the Mexican forward famously known as Chicharito, is set to join Atletico Dallas, the USL Championship club founded in 2024, and will be introduced to the North Texas community during a live‑streamed press conference.
The 35‑year‑old striker brings a decorated résumé that includes league titles and deep runs in the UEFA Champions League with Manchester United and Real Madrid, as well as a stint with LA Galaxy, and he now also competes as a Twitch streamer and eSports athlete under the Complexity Gaming banner.
Beyond his playing career, Hernández serves as a UNICEF ambassador, championing education projects, and he hopes to leverage his new platform to foster community development in the Dallas area.
Atletico Dallas, which launched its reserve side Atletico Dallas II in the UPSL during the fall of 2025, has appointed Peter Luccin, a former Atletico Madrid player and former interim head coach of FC Dallas, as its inaugural first‑team manager, signaling a strategic push to build a sustainable winning culture.
In remarks ahead of his official unveiling, Hernández said he wants to help create a competitive environment that inspires young players in North Texas and contributes to the long‑term growth of the sport in the region.
