Javon Vital, a senior standout at Lake Charles College Prep, has turned his final high school season into a personal mission to capture a state championship after transferring from Hamilton Christian.
A Quest for Glory
The 6‑foot‑2, 200‑pound athlete amassed 2,700 all‑purpose yards and 48 touchdowns last year, numbers that attracted the attention of the University of Southern California and sealed his commitment to the Trojans.
"I want to prove myself at every level and be great," Vital said, a sentiment that reflects both his confidence and the weight of expectations now placed on his shoulders.
Coach Erick Franklin, who has watched Vital lead since seventh grade, describes the player as a natural commander whose work ethic and football IQ elevate the entire squad.
Beyond the gridiron, Vital’s basketball background — highlighted by a state title — adds a competitive edge, and he hopes the same drive will translate into a football championship that he dedicates to his coaches and school.
With a target on his back, Vital knows each night presents a chance to showcase his growth, and the community watches eagerly as he strives to finish his high school career on a high note.
