A rising star in the making
Jaxon Cover, an 18‑year‑old from Grand Cayman, has swapped roller hockey for the faster pace of ice hockey, a move that has propelled him into the conversation for the upcoming NHL draft.
Central Scouting director Dan Marr ranks him 29th among North American skaters, projecting a second‑ or third‑round selection.
After relocating to Canada for his studies, Cover quickly adapted to the Ontario Hockey League, where he posted a team‑leading 20 goals and 52 points over 67 games last season.
Scout David Manning of the Ontario Hockey League praised his rapid adaptation, noting that teams from across the league have expressed strong interest.
This summer he will suit up for the London Knights before committing to Penn State, where he plans to continue developing his game over the next two years.
Cover says he still feels he is only scratching the surface of his abilities, a mindset that fuels his daily work on the ice.
