Edge Talent on the Rise
Florida State University announced Wednesday that three‑star edge prospect Jaxon Holly has pledged to the Seminoles, marking the tenth verbal commitment in the 2027 recruiting class.
A native of Georgia, Holly will spend his senior year at Roswell High School, where he posted 32 tackles, seven tackles for loss, two sacks and 12 quarterback hurries last season, numbers that helped him earn a three‑star rating from major recruiting services.
His commitment follows the earlier pledge of Indian Rocks Christian School standout Anthony Cavallaro, making the two edge rushers the second and third defensive‑line commitments for the class.
Coaches highlighted the athletic upside of the duo, noting that their size, speed and pass‑rush technique could translate into immediate impact on special teams and future defensive rotations.
The Seminoles’ 2027 class, now anchored by multiple high‑profile edge players, is shaping up to be one of the most competitive groups in the Southeast, a development that aligns with the program’s recent surge in national rankings.
Recruiting analysts have praised the technical polish of both Holly and Cavallaro, pointing to their ability to disrupt opposing backfields as a hallmark of Florida State’s defensive philosophy.
With official visits still on the horizon, the coaching staff is expected to leverage these commitments to attract additional talent on the line, a strategy that could keep the Seminoles among the top contenders for the next recruiting cycle.
