A Milestone On and Off the Field
Jaxon Willits, Oklahoma's starting shortstop, has been a cornerstone of the Sooners' journey to the College World Series championship Series. In his senior season, he is batting .305 with 67 hits, 17 doubles, seven home runs and 52 RBI, starting every game.
The milestone coincides with his first Father's Day celebration. Willits and his wife welcomed their daughter, Gracee Kate Willits, on March 30, 2026, a date that now aligns with the national championship game scheduled for Father's Day.
Balancing the pressures of a high‑stakes series with the responsibilities of parenthood, Willits says the birth of his child has added a new layer of motivation to his performance on the field.
