Bowling Green High School announced this week that Jay Eastridge will lead the Purple baseball program as its new head coach, bringing with him a decade‑plus track record of building winning cultures at LaRue County and Central Hardin high schools.
A Player‑Centric Philosophy
Eastridge has spent months preparing for this opportunity, emphasizing that success on the diamond begins with growth as individuals. He works closely with University of Kentucky Coach Nick Mingione, integrating a student‑first mindset that blends athletic development with personal responsibility.
The coach’s approach centers on nurturing talent while instilling character, a philosophy that resonated with the school’s athletic director.
Support from School Leaders
Calvin Head, the district’s athletic director, said Eastridge’s proven ability to create a positive environment makes him a perfect fit for the program. "We’re excited to see how his vision will elevate both the team and the students," Head remarked.
Rising sophomore Chance Carrigan and freshman Henry Phillips echoed the sentiment, expressing confidence that Eastridge’s energy and emphasis on development will translate into a competitive and supportive season.
Looking Ahead to March 2027
The Purple baseball squad is slated to open its schedule in March 2027, marking the first chance to see Eastridge’s philosophy in action. With high expectations set by the school and the community, the team aims to blend on‑field performance with the broader growth that the coach prioritizes.
