A Promising Talent Joins the Sycamores
Jayden Bazile, a graduate of Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School, has officially committed to play baseball at Indiana State University, bringing a blend of power, speed, and defensive versatility to the Sycamores' roster.
His freshman season at Kaskaskia College was nothing short of spectacular. Bazile batted .398, hit five home runs, amassed 51 RBIs and scored 53 runs while stealing 19 of 22 attempted bases. He also struck out only 27 times in 202 plate appearances, underscoring his disciplined approach at the plate.
The attention he garnered from Division I programs was a natural outcome of his all‑around performance. Coaches praised his hitting, his aggressive baserunning and his reliable glove work, noting that he could adapt to multiple positions when needed.
Following his college debut, Bazile spent the summer competing for the Clinton LumberKings in the Prospect League, one of the nation’s premier collegiate summer baseball leagues. The experience against seasoned collegiate talent has refined his skills and prepared him for the rigors of Division I play.
Indiana State’s coaching staff expressed enthusiasm about adding Bazile to the program. They highlighted his work ethic, his ability to impact the game in several ways and his potential to contribute immediately as both a hitter and a defender.
Bazile’s commitment reflects a growing trend of top high‑school prospects choosing to continue their development at the collegiate level before entering the professional draft. His journey from Christ Our Rock Lutheran to Kaskaskia College and now to Indiana State illustrates a deliberate path aimed at maximizing growth and exposure.
