Army appoints Jeff Monken to five-year deal
Jeff Monken has agreed to a five-year contract that will keep him at the helm of the Army Black Knights through 2030, a move that cements his place as one of the most enduring leaders in the program’s modern history.
Monken, who entered his 13th season as head coach, brings a career record of 125 wins and 79 losses in NCAA Division I play, complemented by six bowl victories, including a recent Fenway Bowl triumph.
A legacy in the making
Monken’s contract extension reflects the academy’s confidence in his ability to shape the next generation of cadets, both on and off the field. His tenure has already produced multiple conference titles and a culture of resilience that aligns with the military’s core values.
The deal also secures continuity for a program that has seen its roster evolve over the past decade, with recruits increasingly drawn to the combination of academic prestige and a competitive football schedule.
Fans and alumni alike have voiced optimism that the extended partnership will translate into sustained success in upcoming seasons, potentially positioning the Black Knights for deeper playoff runs.
